Spring 2022 In the Fall, I started working at Northwestern Michigan College. I continued teaching World Language at Greenspire and I finished with Italian in February 2022. It was very difficult to say goodbye to my amazing students. But we will meet again, and hopefully I can take them on a study abroad trip now that I am at the college. I am working in the International Services section of the college. This year we are taking Nursing students to England, Culinary students to Spain (yum!), Humanities to France and Freshwater Studies to Colombia. The best moment is watching their eyes light up as they imagine a new adventure abroad. As an academic success coach, I am also using my skills to help and mentor students. People keep asking if there will be a part 2 to Eastbound, I Think. I want to say I think not! I should really work on Blue, almost Red. That novel is about half way done.
Summer 2020
After a spring of teaching from home, anxiety with the Coronavirus, and many cold days, summer has officially arrived to Northern Michigan. Like many families nationwide, we got a puppy. A need for more love in our house- James Tiberius Chewbacca Call (we call him Chewy) has brought so much happiness and fun to our family. This rush of new life and the blooming flowers has me considering finishing my novel- “Blue, almost Red” I asked Sofia if she would be interested in helping me write it and she said yes. A mother-daughter collaboration of writing a novel sounds like so much more fun than the solo experience of writing alone.
December 2018
I started a new job at The Greenspire School teaching World Language this fall. It has been a ton of fun and I am getting to know all the students and their interesting stories. We have celebrated Dia de los Muertos and will be learning about the Spanish traditions of Christmas and New Year's. Visit my FB page for upcoming events.

WHY did I choose Left Foot Charley for the party?
As in all things, there is a story within a story.
My Michigan family once had a cherry orchard. In 2014, they decided that turning those orchards into vineyards as a retirement "hobby” would be fun. Those grapes grew, were happy with the soil and the vintner, Bryan Ulrich, at Left Foot Charley made wines with those grapes that were so yummy, that they crowned the first crop of Blaufränkisch grapes with the Jefferson Cup award. (Click here for the Wall Street Journal article.)
Luck would have it that last fall's grapes have been used for a newly released: 2017 Rosé.
